The POI feature class contains selected landmark and place-based features used for map display and reference purposes. Features include locations such as rail stations, jetties, boat clubs, university campuses, and other notable public or geographic landmarks. The dataset is primarily used to enhance cartographic products, improve map readability, and ensure key locations are represented consistently in CMB’s contribution to the Esri Community Basemap.

This polyline feature class represents road centrelines for constructed roads within the City of Moreton Bay. It is used primarily for cartographic display, including road visualisation and road name labelling in basemap and reference mapping products. The dataset excludes roads that have not yet been constructed, such as planned road reserves. Features are digitised and adjusted using imagery and ADAC Transport RoadCentreline as source references, with geometry maintained to best represent the centreline of the mapped road surface for display purposes.
Origin of data: Digitisation using ADAC Transport RoadCentreline and imagery as source references
Methodology: Create/Modify features editing tools in ArcGIS Pro. Search the ADAC Road Centrelines for new roads and digitise to best fit the centre of the road pavement as sometimes the ADAC data is differently, e.g. roundabouts.
Source materials referenced: Imagery and ADAC Transport RoadCentreline

Polyline that represents a special area of interest feature like fence, gate, parking lot line, sports field line, or marina dock
This polygon feature class represents building footprints across the City of Moreton Bay and is maintained primarily for cartographic and reference mapping purposes. The dataset supports CMB’s contribution to the Esri Community Maps Program and Community Basemap by providing consistent visual representation of built structures. Data capture is supported by digitisation, machine learning outputs, and external reference datasets, including Nearmap AI Building Footprints, imagery, and Queensland Government data sources. Building geometry is maintained and refined in ArcGIS Pro for mapping purposes and may be updated on an ongoing basis as new source material becomes available.
Origin of data: Digitisation, machine learning-supported capture, and external reference datasets. Data capture supported by Machine Learning and purchased datasets such as NearMap AI Building Footprints and QLD Government data sources
Methodology: Feature creation, review, and refinement using ArcGIS Pro editing tools and imagery interpretation.
Source materials referenced: Imagery, Nearmap AI Building Footprints, and Queensland Government reference datasets.
Time period represented: As at September 2025
Update frequency & maintenance plan: Ad hoc
Geographic coverage (non-technical): City of Moreton Bay Extents
Business owner / custodian: Geographical Information Services, gis@moretonbay.qld.gov.au
Stakeholders / key users: Corporate GIS, internal GIS users, and the Esri Community Maps Program / Community Basemap.
Quality assurance performed: Visual review against imagery and reference datasets during editing.
Limitations & caveats: Accuracy is influenced by the positional accuracy of source imagery and may be affected by parallax, image capture conditions, and source data variation.
Privacy & sensitivity: None
Dependencies / related datasets: Aerial photography, imagery services, Nearmap AI Building Footprints, and Queensland Government reference datasets. Note: No 2025 aerial photography is being supplied by the Queensland Government; 2026 updates will rely on alternative available sources.
Publication status: Internal dataset used to support Esri Community Maps / Community Basemap contribution workflows.
