It divides the region into 5 catchments and is used for mapping and analysis. The catchments and their approximate defined extents are listed below:Caboolture - Follows the Urban Footprint North of Burpengary Creek, additionally includes North East Business Park and Caboolture West Local Plan areas.Coastal Villages and Bribie Island - North of Burpengary Creek, East Caboolture Planning area, and East of Bruce Hwy in the North.North Lakes, Redcliffe, MBRL - Western edge goes along Urban Footprint, Northern extent is Burpengary Creek, Southern Boundary is North Pine River, includes all of Redcliffe Penisula.Strathpine - South of North Pine River, follows Region Boundary (South Pine River), extends to Urban Footprint in West, additionally includes Bunyaville Conservation Park.Rural - Is the remaining area West of the Urban Footprint, and West of Bruce Hwy in North.
