Description:

The Gold Coast is lined with 52km of sandy beaches from Snapper Rocks in the south to South Stradbroke Island in the north. The Ocean Beaches Strategy identified the need to categorise the beaches since not all beaches share the same characteristics. Categorising each beach into compartments enables the City to target investment and management of the beaches that reflects the community's needs and use. Data for each beach compartment for visitation, use, spend and erosion risk provides insight into potential investment or management activity which reflects community sentiment for individual compartments.
